Our history
The experience gained in the mechanical sector leads the founders to try the leap of specialization: this is how the production of edge polishing machines is born.

The start
From the intuition, knowledge and courage of Luigi and Gabriele Montresor, the company of the same name was born in Villafranca, a town in the province of Verona. For the next 10 years, machines are carried out on specific requests from their customers.

The first edge polisher
The first automatic belt edge polisher is invented: it’s called Lola 60.

The first automatic bevelling machine
The first Sara 8 automatic bevelling machine is born with 8 groups for the simultaneous execution of the beveling on the four edges of the tiles.

Invest to grow
During the nineties, the Montresor family faced a difficult choice: investing to grow or leave the business. The owners decide to take a risk by committing all their savings to a new warehouse, a choice that will then prove to be a winner.

Synonymous with edge polisher
In fact, the following decades see Montresor protagonist of a series of technological innovations that will give it the recognition of synonym for edge polishers in the world. In fact, the Unica 810 toroidal edge polisher with 3 independent axes was born, which was later renamed Luna, the Viva 3.2 was invented and in 2016 the Vela 7.2 vertical edge polisher was born.

Intermac e Donatoni Machines
The joint venture led by Intermac, in partnership with Donatoni Macchine, acquires 100% of Montresor, offering complete and integrated solutions for the stone industry.
